Kenda Tire started out in 1962 as Kenda Rubber, a business based in Yuanlin, Taiwan. Its first products were bicycle tyres which it focused on until 1970 when it branched out into the production of motorbike and scooter tyres. Over the years it added to its product range with the introduction of tyres for lawn and garden machinery, trailers, and later golf carts. It wasn’t until 2001, after the acquisition of several other tyre manufacturers and facilities, in China, Vietnam and the USA, that Kenda began producing passenger car tyres. Shortly after the company’s 50th birthday in 2012, Kenda Europe was established in Germany.
