The rubber factory where Kormoran tyres are now produced was built in 1935. The factory was built by the Polish rubber manufacturing company Stomil-Olsztyn, which is now Poland’s largest tyre producer. However, it wasn’t until 1959 that the factory actually began manufacturing tyres, up until then, it produced a variety of other rubber products. In 1994, Stomil-Olsztyn introduced the Kormoran brand, manufacturing these tyres in its Polish facility. Now part of the Michelin Group, the Kormoran range includes tyres for passenger cars and SUVs, tyres for commercial light trucks, HGVs and buses, and it is particularly well-known for its ultra-high-performance tyres.
