Compare and Buy Michelin tyres Online

In 1889, Edouard Michelin took over a business that manufactured farm equipment and rubber balls. He renamed it Michelin et Cie and in 1891 created the first ever detachable bicycle tyre. Michelin then become better known as this bicycle tyre was used by Charles Terront when he won the Paris-Brest-Paris cycle race. Their next major achievement was to invent the first ever air filled tyre in 1895. The iconic Michelin Man character is known the world over and is now over 120 years old, one of the few advertising characters that has withstood the test of time. Edouard Michelin died aged just 42 due to an accident while fishing, but his name lives on in the successful business he created.

Q. How to check Michelin tyre manufacturing date

On the sidewall of the tyre you should find the letters "DOT" followed by 4 numbers. The first of these two numbers represent the week of the year of manufacture and the second two numbers represent the year. E.g. DOT1519 is the 15th week of 2019.

Q. Are Michelin primacy 4 tyres run flat?

Yes, the run flat technology in the Primacy 4 tyre allows you to drive up to 50 miles at 50mph with a flat tyre.

Q. Can Michelin pilot 4 tyres be repaired?

Yes these tyres can often be repaired, they also benefit from treads that don't wear down as fast as those on run flat tyres.

Q. How long do Michelin cross climate tyres last?

While it's impossible to say exactly how long your cross climate tyres will last, they do have a reputation for being long lasting, and the CrossClimate+ tend to perform better when they are a little worn.
