Sava is a Slovenian tyre company that was founded in 1921 when four businessmen decided to open a rubber factory in northwest Slovenia. In 1948 it was given the name Sava, the name under which its tyres have been sold ever since. In 1997 the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company bought a stake in the company, and in 2004, it took over the company in its entirety. This takeover brought Goodyear’s extensive knowledge and expertise to Sava and so the brand continued to grow, employing more than 1400 people. Sava has its headquarters in Kranj, Slovenia, and its tyres are manufactured in production plants in Slovenia, Poland, France, Turkey, and Germany.
